SECTION 1
1966 5 HP OUTBOARD MOTOR,
LD AND LDL
Extra power in the smallest, lightest package possible.
1966 Johnson 5 HP motors have been designed for use on small fishing skiffs, dories and utility boats. The motor may also be used as an auxiliary on small sail craft.
The motor is generally similar in design and appearance to the 1965 5 HP model. There have been some minor changes to the styling of the trim and decals.
Mechanical improvements for 1966 are:
- A new support method for drive shaft to reduce gear noise
- The top flange of the exhaust housing strengthened to give better support to the power head.
1966 features include:
- Maximum corrosion protection
- Weedless 3-blade propeller
- 50: 1 gas-oil mix
- Cushion-hub propeller protection
- Recessed control panel
- Seperate 6 gallon Mile-Master fuel system
